Environmental School Grants for Projects


With the worldwide concerns about the global warming, rising oil prices and renewable resources, the environmental researches is very popular among the public. Piquing children’s who are generaly interested in gaining environmental education at the early age must contribute to reducing the problems and stopping it from becoming larger in future. Most of the public sources and companies provide grants such as grants for single mothers to the schools which steps further into environmental education field. Environmental education is generally becoming a great part of most school curriculums. Schools will receive grants for environmental and recycling projects and programs.

Because the children are the leaders of tomorrow, we must give importance in teaching them the ways for helping and appreciating the environmental growth. Most of the non-profit organizations and schools are implementing various projects and funds which introduce children to the environmental concepts. Most of the projects will need funding and there are several grant sources which support the environmental education initiatives of youth.

NOAAB-WET Program:

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration offers financial support every year through the training program and Bay-Watershed education which is also called as B-Wet. This program offered funds to over 530 projects which promotes meaningful watershed educational experience. This experience will include studying of watershed effects in school areas and about how it helps the environment.

Target Field Trip Grants:

It provides several educational grants for the schools which provide community services such as clothing and food for families and the individuals who face risk of starvation or poverty. Field trip grant that recognizes which teaching is undergone in real world like in classroom is provided. This program will provide funding for the teachers to take the children on the field trips which relates to the environmentally responsible information or research.
According to the organizations site, this program has offered about 7,400 grants for the teachers in all the 50 states which totals over $6million. Every year about 5,000 teachers will receive the grants about $800 to the environmentally fueled field trip funds.

Get Our Good on Grant:

It is generally available for the children from various parts of the world who addresses the critical needs in various communities including the environmental sustainability. It will offer 100 grants totaling about $500 for the implemented service projects and the youth designed projects which take place on the Global Service Youth Day that is celebrated on every April. Children are expectant to work with the peers from school and the community for accomplishing the service projects.

Disney Friend for Change Grant:

This grant is sponsored every year by the Disney Corporation which is geared towards the children who are very much interested to help the environment. It is designed for helping fund projects to the children around the age of 5-18. This program will consist of about 150 grants which total about $500 which is awarded to the children whose service project will help in protecting the environment and should have positive impact on the global, national and local communities. The children are encouraged for working with the families and peers in the communities and schools to achieve the environmental service goals.

Captain Planet Foundations:

The awards offered by Captain Planet Foundation will range about $25-$2,500 to the nonprofit organization and schools which plan to execute the environmental programs for the youths. The previously funded projects will include environmental related documentaries, river cleanup initiative and organic gardening projects, according to this foundation. This foundation will obviously support most of the qualifying companies as the annual funding will support, according to this foundation.
